hey Liz, i read all the books too. and so far this season, its abosolutely NOT going by the book. so….you cant exactly say whats gonna happen. :/ no offense.
(ex. in the book, erics maker isnt godric, and godric doesnt die and etc.)

Also After Sookie kills lorenna, she drives to alcides appartment building into the basement with bill in the trunk…and they find the body and what not….Plus the whole Russel thing…that NEVER happined….I read the entire series 2ce and Sophe-anne NEVER married him…she married someone else. Plus Hedly was turned into a vampire also…they only touched a little bit of basis in seasion 3 from the books…I was quite disappointed to see that they left out almost Most of the book… they changed into something TOTALLY oppisite of the book…

The fact that its different from the book should keep you interested, since you don’t know what will happen.
I’ve never read the book so it doesn’t bother me at all anyway. I think the show is excellent, except for the recent gay scenes. I’m a guy and I don’t like watching two dudes get it on.

hi, i read i think all the books apeared in romania, but hei, the show ist so diferent from the book. eric in book is so much more humain, end he doesnt die, but in the show …who know?
it will be pitty for him to die cause he is very interesting as a man, and Sookie will fall in love with him.
by my opinion the book is much much more interesting than the show, so i recomand you to read it.

@kellycarberry — I know they’re deviating from the books, but I’ve got to say that this was bound to happen. This is television — One true love is only around so long as it’s interesting. Bill will find it later on and while I’m not convinced that it’d be true love, I’m a supporter of the Sookie/Eric pairing. As for Bill killing Sophie Anne… Yeah, don’t see that happening.
Now, for my opinion (not like all of that wasn’t opinion, but whatever)– While I liked it, it felt lacking. Not enough Pam screen time. I’m glad to see that Alcide survived, and that “Talbot” got disposed of finally. Gotta wonder how Eric got out of the silver, though I think I figured it out. Just want to know if I’m right. There were just too many unanswered questions. Like, was I right in thinking that the place where Hoyt’s mother bought the gun a place run by the FotS? That was Newlin in the card board cut out right?
Ah! I’m so ready for season 4.

In very little ways does the BOOKS go along with the seasons they are all confused and backwards. I think that I enjoy that fact a lot because you never know when they will introduce the next key character that is the exciting part. If it went by the book-S there would be little to no point in watching this amazing series unfold…now get ready for the season four and the loss of Erics memory that is by far my favorite book and should prove to be one of the best seasons. I think that bringing her fae out was a little pre mature since her “fairy god mother” is suppose to save her from several different near death experiences…when will she meet Great Grandpa? so much to ponder hope they make at least 6 more seasons it would leave me feeling longing for more if they do not incorporate every amazing detail from the books that they can..Charlaine Harris is an amazing author and I am so glad I picked up the series and am looking forward in her two other series!!

why is anyone thinking that Eric dies, he is the main character in the damn show and if you watched the final you would know that he does not die and if you watched the preview for season 4 you will see him running half naked down the road to sookies house because he has amnesia that I am guessing that JESUS gave him since they have changed up the characters from the books…and it a total of 12 books just you know…i have the complete box set as well as the last two paper backs and the big hard back that go along with the set….I RECOMMEND READING THE DAMN BOOKS THEY ARE SO ADDICTING as well as exciting, although it is also just as exciting when they introduce the new characters such as Holly and Jesus, because they are the witches and they have the next book

Don’t worry, Jessica doesn’t have ALL the facts entirely correct, not ALL the books have been published yet, the next one number 12 is due out next May & the first episode can be read on the fan page on facebook.
So NO ONE knows the ending!!
Godric is in the books, but the early ones only & Eric is in fact from the first book onwards.
On c.Harris’ website it foes say there’ll be a total of 13 books & yes she knows the ending but reckon she’s probably one of the very few on the planet that does.
So plenty more to come- yummy!

book VS series
In the book pam and sookie are on friendly terms creating humorous moments.
Sookie is far more intelligent in the book. she has more times when she impresses the people/vamps around her, also saves the day more often.
Sookie’s character has more moments where she shines in the book.
I prefer some aspects of the way the fairy thing is portrayed in the book better. (although the light/magic from her hands is cool).
Alcide and sookie have more moments, the skank debbie is more conniving.
Sam is nice.
In the series Lafayette is alive.
Jessica exists.
Jason is less of a dick (so far).
Sookies blood is like a sunscreen for vamps.
She has Fairy powers.
Cuts out the slow boring bits in books.
Some differences to the book are good, keeps the show relatively unpredictable.
Okay personally, the books better. books always better. so read the books after you watch the series, won’t be disappointed that way.
oh and WHEN is series 4 coming? is there a date?
one more thing just to clarify, in the book there is a godric he meets the sun, sookie watches and cries for him, he is not erics maker.
